Default Anyone have Starrsoft email support?

I downloaded their software and does not download the radioreference database right.
I then bought ARC300 for my Pro-2055 and it work fine.
I would like to get my $25 back from Starsoft.Their help menu does not work either. Its manual
does not work either. I have their WIN 96 and its manual over the net does not work either.
Ive never tried to use it for radioreference. I just tried WIN96 and it does not work either.
Hmmmmm looks like the Starrsoft is no good. I would like my $35 and $25 back for both of them

I believe if you go on to the home page for the WIN software there is a link for contacting Don. As has been demonstrated in this and other forums, he is quite responsive. Give it a try before condemning the entire product line.

The few times I've had a problem, 99% is user error on my part. And Don is responsive, he fixed something that was a problem for me, and I did even ask.

I would suggest checking your com ports, also make sure that you have the help menu downloaded, check the extra write time box, and make sure you are clicking on the right scanner in the download menu. etc.

My question would be, why didn't you use it for the 30 day trial period before you bought it?

Default starrsoft e-mail

I think you are barking up the wrong tree I have been using Don's software for years win92 win93 win95 win96 win97 and now win500 I have not had any software problems the only time I had a problem was when I failed to make a hard copy of my software key and had a drive crash. I e-mailed Don and told him my problem gave him all my information and was happy that Don sent me my old key back to me in a very short time. This is very stable software and works as listed and updated often I only wish I could get the same support from Bill Gates at Microsoft for windows and office.

The program claims to be able to download from radioreference but does not do it right?
That is why I didn't bother trying his free trial. If he offers free trial he should return money for
a program that is not doing as claim just as easy I think. Don't you think it should be that way.
Its not the money its the point.

I'll agree that the OP's problems are most likely NOT Don's. I have WIN92, WIN93, WIN95 & WIN97 and have had ZERO problems. I might add that he's made all of the programs I have available free except WIN97, but WIN97 is well worth what is being asked.

There are other programs out there for some of these scanners and they either do not work at all, cost more, or both! I "laugh" at people who complain to Don because they lost their key (and want their money back, etc). I wonder if these same people would complain to General Motors if the lost their key to their automobile. Why should this be any different? It's also equivalent to people who call tech support because their computer won't turn on, only to learn later they have to plug it in (yes this stuff really happens - my sister works for a major tech support company).

If Don was to provide the kind of 24/7 or "immediate" support that most people think they are entitled to, he'd have to charge 10+ times more for this software. Ironically, the reason most people go this route in the first place (when there is a choice) is because of the low cost. You can't have it both ways.

in win96 UNCHECK the CC ONLY option???. then try Dl again

You MIGHT get better results asking the THOUSANDS of Winxx software users that frequent these forums what YOU are doing WRONG. It appears from your limited description of whats happening that you are missing something in your programming. The software does work, period. With thousands of happy users it seems a little obvious that YOUR two "nonworking" copys are due to problems on your end.

Can't help you with your question regarding the format.

I've used most of the WinXX software from way back and have never had any problems other than those due to my own carelessness.

there is something about that at his website, go there & read up.. You can get it fixed & hope all works out for you
