Default Arc160

I have a Pro-162 and I am testing the ARC160 DEMO, but I don't see any way to turn the TG scan lists on or off in the program. Was this over-looked or am I missing something??

I don't see it either. I am also using the Demo version. The manual is no help either, the pictures do not match the program.

I noticed that the screen shots in the software manual are for ARC300. I'm having trouble programming an LTR system. The data transfered to the scanner ok, but I can only scan in OPEN mode and the TGID alpha tags do not display during a transmission. I have attached my .rsf file if anyone wants to look at the LTR in bank 0 and see why it won't scan that bank in CLOSED mode only in OPEN mode.

Scanlist programming will be added to the next release, the screenshots are taken from different packages but should not be a problem since the basic software options are all the same.

008151 is not the correct format for a LTR system. So 008151 should look like '0-08-151'. It's a simple fix.
008153 Chandler PD Pvt Off
008048 Chandler Fire Off
Should look like;
0-08-153 Chandler PD Pvt Off
0-08-048 Chandler Fire Off

Both formats are valid in ARC160. Either 008153 or 0-08-153 will upload correctly.

I was entering some freq. and I accidentally selected FM for a AM channel. Now I noticed that there is NO AM, NFM, or AUTO selection for channel modes. The Short cut keys do not work either, 'N' for NFM or 'A' for AM.
Software is not as polished as there previous offerings, seems rushed.

The scanner always uses auto mode, you can only define whether a channel mode is trunked or not.
To keep the files compatible with other software 'non trunked' is shown as FM mode.

For LTR systems, No matter if I use the dashes in the talkgroup ID or not, I never get the talkgroup alpha tags to display when scanning. Only the ID's display.
EDACS and Mototorla systems work fine....

Any suggestions.....?

There is a problem with the upload of LTR data to the scanner when using ARC160. i got mine to work by manually re-entering the TGID's into the scanner with the keypad.

OK, So after re-entering the talkgroup ID's manually, the alpha-tags will start displaying ?

Thanks for your help.

Gommert, Are you aware of this issue ?? Thanks,

It worked for me. You don't have to re-enter the alpha tags, just the TGID's and use just the numbers. No ( . ) Dot

OK, That seems to work for me now also.
I then had ARC-160 re-read the data from the radio and it displays that ID's with no dashes.
I think their may be an issue with the software because even trying to edit the ID's seems to yield strange results. ( I had tried adding dashes in the talkgroup ID field and the dash does not always show up where you typed it.)

Hopefully the Butel folks will read this thread.....

Please send me a data file ( arcsoftware at yahoo.com ) that shows me this problem, lt id's can be entered with and without the dashes, the software will accept both and convert to the correct format before uploading.

It looks like the LT id problem is a firmware issue.

Default LT Programming

The problem with uploading LT programming from ARC160 appears to be a firmware issue that R/S will have to address. For now though you can still use ARC160, but after the upload you will have to manually re-enter the TGID's into the scanner using the keypad. The alpha tags upload OK, so you won't have to re-enter those.
