Pro-164 using Win97

Sorry if this is in wrong place.


Spent the past hour searching the forums for my answer, but found nothing.


I'm new to the scanner scene, and received a Pro-164 for Christmas. I finally bought a 20-047 cable so I could more easily program my scanner for the Fort Worth area, problem is, I'm confused.

I signed up for premium on this site, and loaded FWPD and MedStar, and ended up adding in all the frequencies for the area.




Thing is, I'm such a noob that when I hit the scan button, it starts scanning but NOTHING is ever detected. When I use the limited search mod, I can hear a lot of activity going on. I even tried the Open/Closed thing to see if I could hear anything on open, but to no avail.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty new to scanners too, but have the same scanner. Still gotta get the cable and software, but did you check your squelch? If the squelch is set too high, you won't get anything except whats right next to you.
