Smile Newbie: Scanning software for GRE PSR 300

Hello All,

Please forgive me if this has been already asked in another topic, but why should I buy and download scanning software for my new PSR 300? Would it allow me to load "all" the frequencies within my county area at once? Does it set up each bank itself and determine the "modes" and where like "trunking" frequencies would be placed? Can it do all of this without much data being entered by me? I just needed to know If I spend the money will it solve my programming problems at once?

I would greatly appreciate anyone's advice!

Thanks

Tim

With a premium subscription to this web site, and the software and cable, you can easily program the scanner from the computer. When downloading the information from the radioreference.com web service, the frequency modes and trunking information are set automatically by the software.

If you have the cable, the packages that are out there provide free trial periods so that you try them before you buy...

The software available that I'm aware of at this point are:

WIN97 from http://www.starrsoft.com
ARC300 from http://www.butel.nl
PSREdit300 from http://www.psredit.com

Mike
