Default Help with FreeScan and Importing Frequencies

Newby to the forums and am looking to program a bc246T with the Freescan software. I have become a payed member of RR due to the nice feature of being able to load the codes straight onto FreeScan and then upload to the scanner. My questions are...

Does anything need to be programmed into the Trunker before uploading. ( I have accidentally erased all preprogrammed channels from the factory.)?

How do I go about importing the information from RR to Freescan? (I have tried searching the forums and have found nothing on this, so sorry if it is a repost of info that has already been answered.)

You haven't deleted anything important at all - the preprogrammed frequencies you erased are in an user-controlled area in memory. They are still there, just in a protected area of memory. You should clear out the user area anyway, since it frees up available memory for whatever you wish to program.

For questions about importing into FreeScan and uploading, please see the user manual, which is hosted in our wiki. Here is the link...

When you are at the upload programming screen, make sure you put a check mark next to the system(s) you wish to upload.

What is 'the Trunker'?

[edit] By the way, the author is available on the FreeScan forums - which is on the same site as you downloaded the program. That's often the fastest way to get answers about his software.

I also monitor the forum on here from time to time. Sjswing, you can import by selecting File * Import * Radio Reference Trunked. This will bring up the import screen. Enter your username & password for RR and click on Connect. Then select the geographical area you are in to bring up the available systems for your area.

Once you have selected a system that you want, click on Import, and it will be loaded into FreeSCAN. Since you have a 246, you may wish to explore the Options tab on the import screen as it contains an option to skip importing digital channels.

Also I would recommend to check out the wiki as Mike said, as it contains a lot of helpful information.
