Default arc780 Chear Sheet needed

Ok, I downloaded a demo of the arc780 for my Uniden BC780XLT and I want to purchase it but dont quite get it. I want to program frequencies from Franklin County, Ohio in to it

Scanner Frequencies: Franklin County Public Safety Trunking System, Columbus, Ohio

Can anyone tell me what to do, step-by-step? Thanks!

Terminology may be a little different, but a programming shortcut for the 785 can be found under my signature.

Also, as far as using ARC780, a very decent help file should be with the program...at least it's in the download and install I just completed.

I'll stick with you if you need additional help.

Download and unzip and load this ARC780 file.

It has bank 1 and 2 with law. 3 and 4 as fire/ems.

There are a great many freeware unzippers - I use 7zFM which isn't bad, but there are others. Go do a search on CNet or any of the reputable freeware distribution sites....I don't trust the zip extraction in XP Explorer as it has the habit of corrupting files on occasion. 73 Mike

CVPI,

Download this text file. Find it, right click and select rename from popup. The file name will be in blue with prompt after the last t in .txt. Back space through the .txt including the (.), leaving FRANKLIN OH.mem

Click ok on warning note. Open ARC780, click on Files and navigate to the file.

I figure you've had 19 hours to download and change name of FRANKIN OH.mem.txt to FRANKLIN OH.mem then open that changed file in ARC780 and it to scanner.

BTW, a review of the file indicates bank 4 has the talkgroups but I failed to copy the frequency info to that bank. You can go to bank 3, press ctrl a, ctrl c then click bank 4 and press ctrl v. Save and load to scanner.

No need for that when ARC is cheaper and will get the job done.

$20 cheaper and no support, will only work with one radio, no recording.

Direct quote from seller "IMPORTANT: this software is now sold 'as is'. This software will not be updated anymore. Please try the demo BEFORE purchasing a license for this software. ARC780 is written in an older development language and only supports short 8 character filenames!"

Software has been tested with Vista and works but we do not officially support ARC780 and Vista.

$30 would be not well spent, but then again that's just my thought...

I noticed that too about the Arc780 software, how it was no longer supported. Where can proscan be had?
