Programming Tones into HT1250

Hello,
I have read and have seen serveral videos of people being able to put tones into the radio. In turn you would be able to program the 2 or 4 set of tone numbers and set off pagers from the field. I am unable to figure out how to do this and have not been able to find any tutorials on how to do so.
