Default How do I get the BCT15 into remote mode?

I have set the port settings. How to I get the BCT15 into remote mode?

I use freescan. From the top menu, Choose scanner, Control scanner. It has an option to auto detect it and set the port speed settings for you. I have it running now and it works's great.

Yeah, once you have defined your ports, you can consider the scanner to be 'RMT ready'. It then will look for a connection from software....by the way, FreeScan will be undergoing a huge rewrite (almost done, from the last reports on his forum) to .NET as well as to fix a rebanding issue. Hopefully it will be done in the next week or two 73 Mike

Hey guys, I realize now that this was a dumb question. I found out that 'remote mode' basically means to be controlled by the computer. There is no 'remote mode'. Its just an option on some of the software to control the BCT15 scanner via computer. Education and experience saved another one!

Don't think of it as a dumb question - on older Uniden scanners there was an indication on the screen to tell you that you were in remote mode. Unfortunately there isn't such an indication on these newer ones, so it makes it a bit confusing. 73 Mike
