Win96 and Windows Vista

I cant seem to get Win96 to work on windows vista .. keeps crashing even tried to run it under run as windows xp sp2 and admin. still not working right .. any one have any ideas what i could do to fix this issue?

Check the comports, make sure computer is seeing the scanner

Check the driver. It isnt Win95/97, it's your USB Cable. I had the same issue. Look up the driver updates for Vista (Shitsta) and search for the Radio Shack (or your cable's) driver.

When you say 'crashing', what exactly do you mean? It doesn't launch? It's locks up? It won't communicate with the scanner? What scanner are you using it with? Are you using the USB programming cable, or the older RS232 serial programming cable? What else is running in the background on these computers?

it keeps saying win96 sanner utility has stopped working and closes out

It is registered correct, not the 30-day trial that has expired?

I would download it again to make sure you have the latest version, and that nothing is corrupted. Extract all the files, and over right the old ones with the new ones and try it again.

WIN96 should work fine with Vista.
