How does one get the ARC96 software to read/send to the PRO-96 using the RS Interface Cable?

With cable plugged into USB, check device manager for USB to Serial port in Ports (Com & LPT).

Are you using the conversion cable? The pro96 requires the conversion cable that comes with the 20-047.

I've used GRE version 30-3290 for about 4 years on the 96/2096. 20-047 came out about 2 years ago, long before new GRE scanners.

Gommert,

After posting above, I think you mean the mono pig tail which comes with the cable. That is not required for the 96/2096 either. Fact is, the 30-3290 package which I ordered from GRE several years ago even stated not to use it. However, it will work with the 96/2096 though not required.

Nope don't need the conversion cable.. got it working now perfectly for both Win96 and ARC96... Had to set the right port on ARC.. been using it without the convertacable for over 2 years now. Runs just great.

TY guys....gonna redo my info with ARC and see how it lets me operate..

Ok, my bad. What got me confused is that the 20-289 serial cable only has a mono connector.
