Default WIN96 NWS question

I was wondering if anyone used, or knew what the NWS SAME code search feature does, or how it works. I love using this program, and for some reason I have missed this feature. Thanks for any help, Mike

Google same codes. Find your 6 digit codes for your area and list up to 10 codes in Win96. Also, set Priority Channel to On and enter your strongest of the 7 frequencies available.

Keep in mind (if you are scanning a busy bank), the scanner may miss the 1050 Hz tone.

Use this feature to enter the FIPS codes for the areas you most need the NOAA/NWS SAME warnings for. You may then also enter a text tag for each, say the County/Parish you listed ... In SAME standby mode your scanner will alert you to any alert broadcast by NOAA/NWS for that area. You then click to listen to the alert. Sometimes you may miss the Tone, sometimes you may click over fast enough to also catch this.

When the SAME alert is broadcast your scanner will sound a different alert tone for each type of warning, as well as display the type of warning it is.
