Default Help-programming pro-106

I'm trying to program the new FDNY UHF radio frequencies into my PRO 106 using the Butel ARC 500 software. The frequencies are not programming properly as listed below:

482.00625 shows as 482.000000
482.01875 shows as 482.012500
482.03125 shows as 482.025000
482.04375 shows as 482.037500
482.10625 shows as 482.100000
482.23125 shows as 482.225000

I know I'm missing something (changing some type of setting, but I figure out what it is.
Can someone please help.
Thanks.

Setting the proper step size? I don't have this software or scanner, but that seems to be the bug here, at first glance anyway 73 Mike

For the PRO106, in the range from 470-512 MHz, I believe the standard step size is 12.5 kHz, so that is what the scanner will accept. WIN500 makes the same conversion as ARC500. Have you tried using those frequencies and see how well the scanner receives?

When the 500 first came out Jeffrey Pryor made a spread sheet on Expert setting. Gommert included this sheet at bottom of his Help document. Radio Shack also included the sheet in106/197 owner manual.

I think if you check lower left of Global settings, Expert tab, you will find a check box for FlexStep. I doubt you will notice a change in the actual number, but this apparently sets the frequency correctly.

Dave's Wiki link has Expert Settings spread sheet link in the scanner info. Oh Jeff is getting a lot of miles for his effort.

Enabling FlexStep is the answer and the correct frequency displays, at least in the software.

Great!

Note for all, ARC500 gives credit to Jeffery for the spreadsheet, Radio Shack does not.

No matter how much you THINK you know, there is always something new to learn on these forums.
