Programming 396 w/996 File??

I'm not sure where to post this question about the 396 so I post it here and see what happens...

can I program my 396 with a template already done for my 996 using the ARC software? When I try to access a 996 saved file using the 396 software...the software doesn't load the 996 saved file.

The ARC software would indicate you are trying to program a 396T. The 996T has sites and the 396T doesn't. The only thing that could be used from the 996T configuration is the groups and the systems would be a bust. ???

ARc396 can't open 996 files, the easiest way to tranfer data is to run arc396 and arc996 and use the copy/paste option to transfer data from arc996>arc396.
