Butel Feature Idea

I had an idea and wanted to see if it was a good one. My Uniden scanners can enable/disable sites that have longitude/latitude entries when using a GPS.

Putting those in are slow and painful and while I might spend extra time for my everyday stuff, when I go on a long trip, I am too lazy to really program it in.

For example I went on a multi state vacation this past fall, I just divided up the trip into a dozen or so groups of 3 to 5 counties and enabled/disabled them manually as I went along. (I made a quick reference I atached to me visor.)

So what about having a feature wich can be enabled in the Butel software that would automaticlly add the geographic center of the county whenever you do an import.

Yes it would not be 100% accurate but would be close enough for most people. Any thoughts?

While not quite what you are proposing, I understand the new version of the web service (which, currently, only ProScan and FreeScan supports) can import GPS data directly from the database, if it has it. So there's at least a partial solution to your problem.

The current service will be dropped as of the end of July- I have no doubt Gommert is sweating some bullets getting all his software converted over, otherwise he's going to have a lot of very unhappy customers.
