Default BANK COPY

BANK COPYWIN96, Vers. 01.45
I tried to copy a bank over to another location so I could delete the original bank. I wanted to do this more of as a housekeeping thing then anything. Anyway, I followed the instructions as it says and it did not work. I tried a dozen different times, different ways, re-re-re-read the instructions, and still nothing. Why?

Dunno, because you can't do that in Win95. (Or, if you can, I don't know where to look.) But I simply highlight the entire bank, copy, go to the destination bank, click on channel 1 and paste. (And do the same with the trunking info if that bank is trunked.) Or, if there's a lot of swapping to do, I open a new template and copy the banks from the old one into the right places in the new one. (It's easier using 2 copies of Win9x, one with the source, one with the destination.)

There are two ways to copy a bank in Win96:

1. Within a single P96 file:
a) Edit menu, Bank Editor item
b) In the grid that's presented, click on the source bank
c) Click the "Copy..." button
d) In the dialog that appears, click the target bank and select the data to copy (by default, all data is copied)
e) Click OK
f) Click Done

2. From one P96 file to another (both must be open):
a) Select the source P96 file
b) Make sure the "Channels" tab is selected
c) Edit menu, Copy Bank item
d) In the dialog that appears, select the destination P96 file and the target bank number
e) Click OK

(The steps for #1 do work in Win95 - you can copy/move banks within a single P95 file. Copying between files was a feature added to Win96.)

Thanks, Don - I was totally unaware of that, even though the "Copy" button is clearly visible in the bank editor.

Any plans on future work on Win95?
