Default Butel 996 Software Question

I'm wondering if someone can verify an idea someone suggested. I'm in New Jersey where the State police have three primary systems. In the Northern part of the state Troop B is used. Central New Jersey is served by Troop C. Rather than programming these in as two separate systems, I've been told I can program the individual frequencies for both systems into one bank. In doing so, as I travel within the coverage area of each system, the 996 would lock onto the appropriate system. The TG list would contain TG's for both systems. Will this work?

Thanks!

If I understand correctly what you are asking, I don't think it will work. Each site needs to be programmed separately to work correctly. You might want to look at this thread for a better explanation.

It will work IF The two systems can not be heard by the bcd996t at the same time. If this is a automobile station I would not do it because as you travel around you are likely to have areas where you can hear and decode both control channels and the radio will lock onto one control channel then exit that group and then lock onto the next control channel.
If the control channels are very far apart, a 150 miles or so it should work fine, but if they can be heard at the same time by the BCD996T do not attempt because you will miss transmissions due to the fact the bcd996t is going to lock on to either one of the control channels.

HTH,

Default Thanks

Ya, so in this case I can't hear Troop C while in my home area served by Troop B. I'm wondering if I can program in B and C as separate sites, as in the Morris County system. Definitely some things to try this weekend.. thanks!
