Default 396XT I-CALL in FreeScan screen capture

Is this the correct way to add an I-Call wildcard to a group in Freescan?

Yes, that works. When you send it to the radio it displays i00000000 (8 zero's) in memory.

I'm seeing i00000 in decimal mode and i0000 in hex mode and I seem to be hearing iCalls. Any significance to the "missing" zeros? Am I only getting some of them?

No there is none. When you upload, the i0 gets converted to the proper wildcard. Kind of like when you only enter i0 in the keypad, the scanner saves it as i000000 for you.

When I enter i0 into my 396XT from the keypad it stores i00000 (5 zeros). Does the same thing on the 346XT. I'm wondering why I seem to be the only one with 5 zeros. Other posts in this thread indicate that some are seeing 8 zeros and 6 zeros.

Both scanners have the system set in decimal mode.

Don't feel lonely.... My I-Call wildcard entry in the 396XT, for both Motorola and Edacs systems, only stores (5) trailing zeros, as in: i00000

You use i and zero, and it gave you 11?

I say it works for me. I just upload "i0" as a saved talkgroup with FreeSCAN, hold on the channel and (on a P25 system) see i00000000 on the display. I do it again on an EDACS system and see i00000.

Works fine for me too. I'm only using it on EDACS systems right now and I see i00000 (with the hex replacing the zeros) displayed during an I-Call.

Theres a glitch in the automatic scanner optimizer that causes it to identify icalls as invalid. The next version will fix this though.

Ah. Now I understand why we were getting different results. I was referring to what I see when I go in via the menu and look at what's in the TGID slot.
