Default Butel 996 Question / Possible Bug

So this issue starts when I asked myself if the 996 could do dual mode receive in one channel (analog w/ PL or DPL and P25) by setting the audio type to ALL.

If I program in a frequency and designate a PL / DPL, than set the audio to ALL - I can save these settings by pressing SAVE.

However, if I use "SAVE ALL SYSTEMS", "ALL" changes to "Analog" audio if a PL / DPL was specified.

Shouldn't SAVE and SAVE ALL SYSTEMS work the same?

If I'm understanding your question correctly, the answer is no.

The reason it is switching to "Analog" is that you have a PL set. Lose the PL and it should stay "All". PL/DPL is not compatible with any setting which may include Digital such as "All"

I believe "save profile" and "save all systems" will correct any disparities in your settings when saving, which is what you are seeing.

Default Sorry I was not clear enough

I think you missed the possible bug...

"If" I click "SAVE" it indeed saves the PL and the "ALL" audio setting.
If you click "SAVE ALL" (open systems) it changes the "ALL" <audio setting> to analog.
Why should two different SAVE commands, save files in two different ways?

Also, while the 996 is not a Motorola radio, I have two that can do dual mode receive by simply designating the PL/DPL in addition to analog and digital mode. Within the logic when it detects digital P25 it ignores the PL / DPL.

My concern is not with how the radio works, but with "why does the 996 software save files differently depending on if you use SAVE or SAVE ALL?
