996 Butel Software Question

When I try to problem me scanner the software is not downloading the data but says the port is not available when in fact nothing else on the computer is open or being used, If I shut off the radio and take the program cable out and start all over again a few time the software works fine, any reason why it would do this.

I ran into the same problem, what i did to fix it was on the top bar where it says BCD996T clikc on that and the drop down bar appears, n the bottom of that is a phrase saying something like "S232 comm " or similiar, click on that and the comm port you need to clik on will be highlighted, it worked for me, good luck , its a great software and system to use once you get the hang of it
