Default Freescan 9B 'Citical Error 9 w/ Illinois Starcom21 files

Using 9B of Freescan and importing the 'south' programming file and getting 'critical error 9, unable to continue' and think I might not be loading all the sites in the file. Under Vista SP2 with the BCD396XT.

Help would be appreciated, thanks

Are you importing a .996 file? If so, try using the File*Open function to load it.

Hi

I had problems with File/Open in that it warned me it was a format belonging to ARC, and would not open. I contacted the author of the SC21 files and was told to do the 'import' which does indeed load, but is causing an error or experiencing the Critical 9 message and does not load completely.

Oh yeah next version will fix this. I didn't take a really close look but it looks like the UASD files in that zip contain the same information, so you might be able to get by with those.

Yeah the PDF file says as much. DamnDirty, I tried all 3 UASD files and they imported fine - however, I did get a message that the number of talkgroups is too high. Undoubtedly some surgery is necessary.

thanks for checking, I managed to get the XT so I don't think the new UASD is out yet. I would have thought the files would have been ready to go format, but I'll keep an eye on them. Thanks!

DamnDirtyApe,

The usd files that are in that zip seem to import just fine into FreeScan for me. Have you tried those?

You don't need the new USAD to import them into FreeScan.

I said the same thing earlier in this thread about the .usd files importing OK (although there are too many talkgroups...)

From all indications, it seems that the UASD for the XT scanners isn't coming out anytime soon, if at all. I think Assaf, Bob and Gommert have knocked the developers - whoever they are - out of the park on this one....73 Mike

I really don't see why anyone even wants UASD when there are several better alternatives to choose from.

Hey there - thanks for the tip! I see the USD does import into freescan.. I was thinking you meant UASD for the XT (which isnt out yet), but I didn't catch about getting them (USD) into freescan. Looks like they all import correctly.

thanks!
