Default Win500 v1.72 or v1.82 - Runs So Slow

Don,

Wondering why the Win500 software taking so long to open a file, modify data within the file, save the file. I mean it takes about 3 minutes to complete the task after I click on anything. The circle just keeps on "circleing" as if it is hanging up on something. I've tried about everything I can think of.

I'm running Windows Vista 64bit OS. (Using your version v1.72 and v1.82.)

Thank you,
Jack

Note: I also use Win96 software for my Pro96 scanner on this same computer and it runs perfectly.

I can't think of anything that would cause such a slowdown. I'm (right now) running Win500 on a Vista 64 machine, and it is just as fast as on Vista 32, XP, and 2000. I'll try to reproduce it, though.

Thanks Don for the quick reply.
I experimented on my other Vista PC that has 32bit OS. Copied all files over to that hard drive.

It worked great there.

Are there ANY files that gewt thrown into Windows, Sys32, or the registry that might be causing the slowdown that I could search for?

I thought of something else, I used a later version that v1.72 for a while then put back v1.72 into another folder on the C drive and decided to use the older version. Somehow I got it into my head the later version wasn't working as well as v1.72. So they both exist, but in a seperate folder on C.

I'm thinking a complete meltdown would cure it, but thats a lot of work.

Thanks a lot!
Jack
