new user with a bc346xt and no clue

I just received a brand new bc346xt scanner and have no clue how to use it. I was told I need to download freescan software, so I did. I will be upgrading my subscription to a premium, but in the meantime, I have NO CLUE how to program the scanner, or use the freescan software. Is there anyone out there that could give me some clues. I already downloaded the users manual and read the wiki file.Thanks in advance.

Yes, a premium sub will make things easier, but let's not jump ahead of ourselves - it would be most helpful if you would let us know where you are (go up to User CP in the upper left blue bar underneath the thread title) and also what you are trying to program. Go to the database (upper left blue bar under the logo), click on Database and use the pulldowns. Supply the URL of the area you want to program.

Also let us know if you have a USB-Serial converter (since most PCs don't have serial ports) and which one. In general, you will need to set the 346XT up for computer control (your manual should have the procedure), successfully install the USB driver and connect the two up before any programming can take place.

DMA scanners don't use banks - in your case, you need to think in different terms - sites, systems and groups. But let's start with the above first....
