Unhappy Trying to Set up my bcd396xt scanner -- HELP!

I am using Butel's ARC-XT software to load the frequencies, talkgroups, etc for the Arlington Heights Police Department. Seemed pretty straight forward....I selected SCANNER, then IMPORT, then RADIO REFERENCE from the menu. So far, so good. My expectation was that after I entered the STATE, COUNTY, and then selected TRUNKING SYSTEMS that I could pick the ones that I wanted to monitor from the list. That was my first mistake -- seemed way too easy. In any case, I gave it a shot and imported the ones I wanted to monitor. When I uploaded them to the scanner, I got the following message while in SCAN MODE:

Rebanded 01/09
ID Scan
853-0750
SO: _ _ _ _ 5 _ _ _ _
GRP: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

I thought that the purpose of donwloading the pre-set frequencies, talkgroups, etc from RR was to take away the work of having to make changes to the software/scanner. Not sure where I'm going wrong here. Any help sure would be appreciated.

There are 8 Arlington Heights in the USA. Please tell us your state and county so we can be more helpful.

There are 2 in IL: Sangamon County, and Cook County That is why I asked for your county as well. I'm guessing Cook, and that this is the system: Northwest Central Dispatch - NWCD Analog (Cook) Trunking System I didn't see anything there that cause a problem, so I will let someone with experience in your area and/or your scanner try to help.If that is NOT the system, then please provide a link or better description.

Default Still need help....

Right -- thanks. I already have all the frequencies, links to the RR pages, etc. -- I'm all set there. I just need the very practical assistance with getting the data into my scanner. In other words, am looking for....

Select the Menu button and set up a new Program System
Then, select "Edit Sys Options".....etc, etc.

I have all of the data, I just thought (incorrectly) that I should be able to import the data from RR via my Butel software and that all of the configurations, etc would be set and that I would be able to begin hearing transmissions right away. Seems pretty complicated.

Load the system in the software, then in the software click the site called Rebanded 01/09. Then in the right pane make sure Mot bandplan is set to 'custom', Click the blue 'Edit Mot Bandplan' button, click the Rebanded button, Ok and then upload and overwrite the existing system
