Default Arcxt

I've just bought the software and I'm trying to created a profile using data from ARC996. Actually, what I'd like to do is just import the entire profile that I'm using in my 996T, but I can't seem to do it. I've found the Create Profile function, and the window will populate with .m96 files, but when I save the profile, the individual systems won't save as .rsf files.

I think I'm doing something wrong as it would be a great disappointment if ARCXT wouldn't allow me to simply create a new profile from data I've built up for my 996T.

Does anyone have an idea what I might be doing wrong.

Profile creator only works for ARC-XT format files.
To import ARC996 files either use the File _ Open ARc396/996 file option or for multiple files use batch import ( File _ Batch Import _ ARC396/996 file) .

Thanks. I know that it's probably a pain to do, but it would really speed things up if the software would import an entire profile at once. The 996T profile I use is fairly complex and it's going to be time consuming to duplicate it system by system.

Also, is there a limit to how many systems I can view in the Browser window. I'm trying to add some more systems to the profile I'm building, but they don't seem to be showing up. Again, seems like it might be something I'm doing incorrectly.

Well, I finally figured out what the problem was with not being able to get a system into the Browser. During the import process from ARC996, one of the system files became corrupted. It had the name of another system, a mix of conventional channels and trunked talk groups, and other information from a number of systems. I deleted that, reimported the system file and all is well.

Weird, though.

I will add the option to import by profile in a next release but in general the batch import should do the trick when importing multiple files, just drag the files into one folder and the select that folder for import.

Thanks. I did that, but of course it's more labor intensive and I'm just trying to find the lazy way out!

Also, at one point I asked about a Start Up Key Overview feature for ARC996. That would be very helpful when trying to set up multiple start up configurations.

Of course it would also be helpful if Uniden designed the firmware so that a system could be placed into multiple start up configurations. Sort of like GRE did with the Object Oriented scanners in allowing frequencies and talk groups to be associated with multiple lists.

Which is not in any way something that you can deal with.
