ARC396 Pro won't download conventional freq alpha tags ?

Hi guys, I did a search on the forum and couldn't find my answer ... and I might be wrong but am I missing something or everytime I download conventional freq directly into Butel's ARC396 V3 Pro, it doesn't import the alpha tags, it will only import the description field who gets cropped to 16 characters ... kind of annoying (not the crop I understand the limit but this problem ...)

I went thru the software few options and help file but can't find anything.

With ARC996 Pro V3, I see the option to do so, same thing with Win500 for my PSR-600, as for Proscan, it seems to import only the alpha tags with either the 396, 996 or 780... which is OK.

Why isn't it doing it the same way ARC996 or Win500 are doing it ?

Is there a way to import the alpha tags of conventional frequencies in ARC396 ?

Gommert ? Anyone ??

Update to V3.1 and then you can select tags or description.

Thanks Gommert, I went to the site and, unless I missed it, there is no mention of that in the first pages and the version says V3.0 ...

unless you go to the download section where you see V3.1 ...

But when you're on the page that says 3.0, while you think you have the latest release, why would someone think having the latest release would go on the download page ...???

After all this, WHY is my ARC396 Pro version 3.0.006 is telling me "You are running the latest release" when I ask to check for update while there is a V3.1 available ?

Same goes with my ARC996 Pro V3.00 b005 when there is a V3.1 build 1 available ??

It's gone worse, 2 things

1 - ARC396 pro 3.1 don't connet to the scanner anymore. Revert back to 3.0, same PC, same Port, same cable, same scanner, same everything, no reboot ... everything is fine ??!!??!! Another buddy of mine has same problem on different configuration (DB9, XP, etc.) I'm on Vista Home Prem, USB ...

PS I know my way around PC, Com port, and software ...

2- Also, with ARC996 pro 3.1, there's something funny appearing on the ride side of the "read-write data" windows.
Is this something that could potentially be of interest for the user or we should act as if it doesn't exist (i.e. remaining in the "Twilight Zone") and wait for your update to correct it ... ? But we can manage to push some button and - RUNTIME ERROR, it crashes the software ...

I have ARC 330 PRO, ARC 396 PRO, and ARC 246. (Windows XP PRO) I upgraded all three to version 3.1. ARC 396 PRO and ARC 330 PRO both could no longer communicate with their respective scanners. I couldn't try my BC246T - ARC 246 because my nephew has it at the moment. I uninstalled all three and went back to the previous versions. I noted reading the Yahoo ARC396 group that version 3.1 of all three programs was released right before Gommert "went on Vacation".
