Is there a way to program win500 with several talksys to scan the same talkgroups without programming the same talkgroups for each talksys. Hope this isnt to confusing.
Thanks

If all the systems are P25 you can put all the control channels together and then choose milti-site roam.

Default Win500 programming

Thanks mobile1 for the response. Yes it is a p25 system. The counties that I am monitoring are very large and have lots of talksystems. So what I did is broke the counties up into sections (4 total) and programmed 32 talksystems into each section according to there locality. Since I do not know what talkgroup uses what talksystem I programmed the same talkgroups into each talksystem which took up a lot of my scanner space. Does roam basically do the same thing? I did find that I am picking up a lot more talk after doing this. Did I do that right?
Thanks

You are probably talking about the WyoLink system which is P25, but isn't most of Wyoming still on VHF/UHF? I dunno...anyway...

Would you mind linking the system you have programmed? I get this feeling of overkill from the way you have described what you have done and a little confused. WyoLink covers the entire state and just scanning from Cheyenne you wouldn't need ALL of the sites programmed in. (128 frequencies for only 12 TGs seems a little odd to me)

By the way, what you are calling talk systems is actually trunking systems (TRS for short).

Here is an illustrated help file for using WIN500 to program your scanner. It may give you some ideas also.

Thanks for the help qlajlu
I should of been more specific as the counties I was monitoring. I am close enough to Colorado to monitor talkgroups down to Denver. That is why I have programmed my scanner that way.
