Default BCD396xt owner and am trying to program my scanner

I'm a new BCD396xt owner and am trying to program my scanner. I downloaded Freescan and located a source of UASD files for my area. I imported those files into Freescan without issue except for one thing. In the frequency column, all frequencies show to the right of the decimal point. For example, 154.905 shows as 0.01549 and 858.9375 shows as 0.008589. Is this the way it's supposed to be, or have I done something wrong? I tried another source of UASD files with the same result. Are the UASD files radio model specific?

Any help will be appreciated!
Dan

They are model specific but it should work with UASD files from any DMA model. What version of UASD were those files from?

I believe they were all made for the BCD396T and I have the XT. I was able to get it to work by manually correcting the frequencies in FreeScan, but that was a hassle as I'm in the Los Angeles area and there are lots of frequencies!

I also encountered another problem. When I create a new group within an existing system instead of displaying the selected group number the scanner displays an asterisk. I used the "find free" function to assign the new group number. Any ideas on that one?

The good news is I love this scanner. It's a far cry from my first handheld that had four crystals on which I put little tabs to identify them and facilitate "quick" swapping!

Thanks,

Dan
