Newest Version of ARC 996

I tried to newest version I think it was 3.1 or something. Couldn't get the software to work properly, screen on sending data to scanner was all messed up. Couldn't edit System Names cause that side of the window was BLANK or when it did work was set to the 1st system and you couldn't change it. The interface to Radio Reference was different and kinda worked. But, in the end I was thanking GOD I had an older version I had to reinstall to reprogram my BCD 996T.
Left a message on Butel Software but guess what he is on vaction....

It's even worse with ARC396 V3.1.001, can't communicate anymore with the scanner ! Stay away from these until Gommert comes back !

ARC396 v.3.1.x - loss comunication

i updated to arc396-pro v3.1 build 1 and my bcd396t would not communicate with the pc.
i removed the program and reinstalled build 3.0.006 which works.
i also updated to arch996-pro v3.1 build 1 for the my bcd996t. when opening the program i found that the windows would not fit my screen resolution of 1024x768.
i had to set the screen resolution to 1152x864 in order to make it fit.
the program would communicate with the pc but i did not use it.
i removed the program and reinstalled build v3.0.005 which works.
i emailed butel and told them of the issues.
just my 2 cents.

well the warning on butel software's website was correct. if you dont update you will not be able to download from radioreference. after reinstalling the old versions of arch996pro and arc396pro they stopped downloading information from radioreference today. it would seem that these bugs would have been fixed before being released.
does anyone have any suggestions?

Same problem here also. The PC does not talk to the scanner. Tells me the software cannot find the radio. Will be watching here for some answers.

Fortunutely, there are alternative solutions ...Proscan, Freescan etc.

I don't mean to make Butel's trial here but at least these guys made proper testing of their products before releasing it ... and going in vacations after releasing an last minute update ...
