I tried to log in just now and I have the same problem. Butel is closed until August 10 for vacation.

same here. If you have more than one arc program installed like I do. you'll notice a difference in the way butel logs into rr, the arc500 still tries to log in the old way..check it out if you have, say the arc996 or arc396 or any other arc updated software installed.

Default RR and ARC500 software

According to their post, when attempting to email Butel tech support, is that they are on vacation from July 23 to August 15. Leaves us in a bind without tech support.

I got the email below from Scanner Master yesterday. I tried the upgrade but it said I was using the latest version. I sent an email to BuTel and got the "on vacation" message as well.

RadioReference will soon require the Free Update of your BuTel ARC Software Now Available

For those of you who have already purchased the Butel ARC Software you can now download at your convenience a major software upgrade which is designed to work seamlessly with the new RadioReference.com web service. The current web service will soon cease operation and thus to continue downloading from RadioReference.com into Butel Software -for those of you who have a RadioReference.com subscription- you will need this free software update.

I loaded the updated downloads for ARC396 and PRO106 (500 file). No luck so far downloading from RR. Unitrunker appears to be out, too.

Got the ARC 396T to work after removing that program separately and then reinstalling with the new version. Doing the same with ARC500 gives a message "RadioRef diconnected, wait retreiving HTTP data" when trying to connect to RR. ProScan works with the 396XT fine today.

There are now multiple threads running across several of the forums regarding this subject. Nothing users of ARC500 can do until BuTel provides an update or if RR would make a change, if even possible at this point. If not resolved in short order, RR should extend the subscription for premium subscribers of the affected software packages.

Angry ARC500 Software from BuTel/ GRE PSR - 500 & 600

I have followed all directions on updating and can not connect to RR. Uninstalled ARC500 Software and reinstalled and it did update, but still can not connect to RR. Tech support on both ends of this switch is very poor.

RR announced this change nearly a year ago and has been running the new system for quite some time so that software vendors could test their software with the new system. Most software vendors have modified their software to deal with it long ago. RR has already delayed the cutoff once before to accommodate those that didn't get their acts together on time. Why should RR extend their premium subscriptions because one or two software vendors waited until the last minute to make the change and then, in the case of one of the vendors, didn't do it right?

Seems to me that it would be the software vendor's responsibility to make good for his delay and error, not RR's. Based on prior dealings, I'd say that's as likely as the proverbial flying pigs.
