Unhappy Trouble with WIN 97

Can someone please help me? I downloaded win 97 programming software at least 3 or 4 times, and I put NET Framework in, and rrlib in, and I still get a message saying, "cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt, or wrong version file "MSVCR71.dll".error 126. I need help please! Thanks.

Get that DLL from here, and put it into the same directory as Win97.EXE.

I don't mean to dredge up an older post, but I too had this problem on my brand new netbook I just bought. This solution worked for me, but my curiosity is piqued. Being a primarily mac guy, I have no idea WHY this would happen on a new installation of windows. Could my uninstallation of bloatware that came with the computer caused this, is there some esoteric package that would have included/installed this but I hadn't yet installed it, or is this file a holdover from an older version of windows that wouldn't have been included because I started with a clean version of XP SP3?

Thanks for the help, and my apologies for (semi-)necro-posting.

Nothing to do with windows, RR updated their web import system back in August , & then every1 had to up date their scanner software & then people had to be reminded again & again to get the updated version

Thank you for that reply, but that doesn't answer my question. I downloaded the newest version of Win97 2 hours before I made that post and ran into the difficulty outlined in the first post. Don's solution was what worked for me. I am curious as to why I was missing that DLL, and if perhaps this is a harbinger of something else that may be missing in my system. As I said, I'm a mac guy, not a windows guy, so I am not as familiar with these types of things as I would like to be.
