I am having trouble with under the rrr database .if you click on wva interoperability radio project you get custom frequencies table for wva .as follows (base 452.000) space 12.5 offset 380 id 170 .(base 460.000) space 12.5 offset 570 if you look under system frequencies number 1-022 elkins randolph county you have the following frequencies ,453.17500,c ,453.36250 a 453.57500 , 453.61250 ,453.72500 ,460.58750 also under frequency number 1-029 and 1-030 you have these frequencies harman n randolph 453.76250 ,453.82500 c ,460.06250 ,460.61250 a under s harman randolph you have these frequencies 453.26250 ,453.58750 ,453.68750 ,460.28750 , 460.5000 c and 460.63750 what i don't understand is do you put all these frequencies. In the frequency step when programming. Example of the steps on the scanner are as follows .
Step 1 push tgrp
step 2 scan list to put in

step 5 tag system i put in wva state police

I really hate this having newbies being moderated for several posts. You have a thread going in the Radio Shack Discussion Forum and received this answer to your questions but because you are moderated, that post got shoved way down the list before you checked back. (Anything in blue and underlined is a link.)
I am also going to recommend that you look into using programming software. After reading your post here, I went to my WIN500 software and within a matter of five minutes I had all the frequencies and TGs imported from the systems you list and ready to be uploaded to the scanner.
I would strongly urge getting a USB cable ( the 20-047 cable from RS, or the 30-3290 cable from GRE) so your computer and scanner can "talk" to each other.
I would also strongly urge you to look into programming software. All of the ones I listed have a 30-day test period so you can choose the one that best suits your needs: - WIN500 (My personal favorite)
- PSREdit500
- ARC Software by Butel
Don't misunderstand me. It is admirable that you are learning to manually program your scanner, but the systems you want to put in your scanner will take a long time to enter. Using programming software allows you to see what things look like "inside" and gives you a better understanding as to relationships. Software also gets you up and running in a fraction of the time that manual programming will take. You also have a Premium Membership which is required to access the RR Database through programming software.

Not sure what you mean by being moderated for several posts only posted 2 question on the whole system didnt realize i was doing something wrong and if anyone doesnt mind can you tell me if you get the win 500 free for 30 days what happens after that do you got to register it in order for what you programmed in your scanner to stay in there im not looking for a free ride here i am quit capable of paying my fair share try not to bother you all again

Since this is a P25 system, don't worry about the custom tables, just set the system type to P25 Auto and enter the control channel frequencies and you should be good.

You have done nothing wrong. It is the rule of this Web site that new posters be "checked" (called being moderated) before allowing the post to be visible for the rest of the site's community. We have been visited with scammers and spammers in the past and this eliminates that possibility. The problem is that sometimes those making their first few posts get aggravated because their posts do not show right away and even lose which forum where they were trying to make the post. After something like three posts that restriction is no longer applied. I believe you are beyond that now and don't have to worry about it.

If you use any software for the 30-day free trial, any progress you made using the software, such as uploading systems to your scanner, you get to keep. After the 30-day period, the software will no longer work for you unless you purchase the privilege to continue using it. The fee is around $30 - $35 and is only assessed one time. You will be given a "key" to that software which is good for as long as you use it and that includes free updates.
EDIT TO ADD:

You are not bothering anyone. We are here to help and you are among friends. I would dare say most of us are also Vets and understand. My service was in Vietnam.
Any question you have is worth posting. The only dumb question is that one which is not asked, so ask any and all questions that come to your mind. This Web site is full of people that are ready, willing, and extremely capable of answering your questions.
If you decide to try WIN500 (my personal favorite), you will find an illustrated help file at UtahRadio.org. That should get you up and running with as little problem as possible.

Welcome back Vet, from another Vet of earlier times.
To get the scanner set for WV interop prior to getting cable try this Wiki Programming Shortcut PSR-500/600 RS Pro-106/197 - The RadioReference Wiki
Note settings P25 at step 6 and control channel only at step 11. When the scanner first decodes the current control frequency, the custom tables will auto set as Mike stated above.
Continue through step 20 for your system.
I run the system every spring on I-64 and your scanner is perfect for this type of system.
The West Virginia forum has a Sticky for this system (started nearly 5 years ago) and it is one of the most used state forums in Radio Reference. In the first 3 or 4 pages the system was figured out by users plus the professional help of mikey60 (post #4 above) and author of the outstanding Pro96Com software, also author of PSREdit software (a link provided by qlajlu above). But it was Pro96Com that listed the needed tables for this P25 UHF system for older Pro's-96 and 2096. Another pro helper on this system is the author of Win500 software (also linked by qlajlu), Don Starr also author of Win96 which is the first software available for setting Multi Tables for GRE scanners (late summer of 2003).
However, mickey60 interpolated the correct custom table setting needed for earlier scanners Pro-96 & 2096.

Punky, I think you misinterpreted what qlajlu was meaning. He wasn't frustrated at you, but rather at the forum for causing your first posts to be delayed, causing you to not see the original answers you got. There was no ill will nor malice in his post toward you. In fact, when it comes to matters of the Win500 software, qlajlu is always among the most helpful to reply.
Also to add, I'm not a veteran, but I thank all of you who are, and I truly appreciate the incredible sacrifices made by all of you to keep our country strong and free!

Sorry i mean friends out there who understand and as to the vietnam vets you guys where my real heroes when i served .our country can never do enough to thank you for your service and sacrifices. One of my best friends in desert storm was a special forces vietnam veteran he took me under his wing and help me through the tough times especially when i would doubt my own survival and what i had to do to survive was right our country still needs our vietnam veterans especially now for our young men and woman to learn from i beleive that that is why we have so many causualtys in the wars we fight now we have lost our mentors the vietnam veteran thank you all again for your unselfish sacrifices for our country and may god bless each and everyone of you you guys are the nations best

Your Words are Very Kind
We of the Vietnam era did nothing more celebrated than you of Desert Storm have done. Us Vietnam Vets marvel at the efficiency and tenacity of our boys and girls in the Sand Box. We admire you, too, and as bama9999 points out, non-military also appreciate what you have done.
Now, we have got to get back on track or the Mods are going to get down on all of us.
What can we do to help you get your scanner up and running? How far have you gone towards getting a cable and looking at software? Have you gone any further with manual programming? The directions that fmon linked for you are very good and you should be able to follow them until you get set up with a cable and programming software.
Keep us informed about your progress and be sure to ask questions so we can help you.
