Butel ARC250 Basic Upgrade went to DEMO?

Just wanted to pass on what happened to me with my Butel ARC250 Basic upgrade so hopefully it won't happen to anyone else. I had to do the upgrade to connect to the new RR data format only to find that after the upgrade it converted my ARC250 software to the DEMO Mode? Can't find my key codes anywhere after tearing the house apart for over an hour. Will Butel work it out with me since I'm also the second owner or am I going to be out of luck? Emailed them but haven't heard anything. Didn't know if anyone else ran into this. I also upgraded my ARC96 and ARC996 ok w/o the key info. Just a problem with the one I can't find the key info for.

The older programs reset the keys on upgrades for some reason. I recently did updates on all of my Butel programs and ARC250 was the only one that required me to re-enter the keys. You'll have to email Butel and ask them if they can retrieve the keys for you. I seem to remember they can, but it takes them some time to do it.

I got a quicker than expected response from Butel and the're helpful but need a transaction id and the person who originally purchased it. I just don't have that info since I got it second hand with a scanner purchase several years ago. Since I had Windows XP I decided to revert to System Restore which at least got my original software version back (although older and unable to connect to the new RR format). I'd rather have the older permanent version and be able to tweak it a bit instead of being stuck with the soon to expire demo.
