Default Win500 and pro 106 help

hi,

So pretty much i have no idea what i am doing and am at a loss. I have the radio shack pro 106 and the win500 software...i want to program in mononghalia and berkeley county freqs. Im trying to understand the software, but i just don't get it. I go to import from radio reference. and in the end i hear nothing. At first it kept saying i didnt have a tsys assigned. if anyone can help me i would appreciate it.

When you downloaded the system from radio reference, it did show up in Win500 right? You also uploaded it to the scanner right? (I know, simple question but sometimes simple things are overlooked)

You probably did not assign anything to a scan list. Click on the TSYS objects tab, select the system, then select any or all talkgroups (highlight them) and then put a check in the box next to the number (corresponds to the scan list number) you want them in. Then, when the scanner is scanning, make sure that scan list is enabled (the number will be on the screen if it is being scanned)

I wrote the "Utah Tutorial" and it is pretty straight forward with illustrations and everything, so I need to find out where you are having trouble to correct anything that may be misleading. Please describe exactly what you have done and if you received any pop-up warnings.

Also, I urge you to return to your User CP (the left side of the second blue bar from the top of any page if you are logged in) and edit your profile to include your location (city and state) as you were requested to do in the material e-mailed to you when you registered. Once you fill in your location it will automatically show in each of your posts. Many of the questions you will have, and their answers, are going to be location specific and without having your location showing you will be asked over and over again what it is. So fill it in now and be done with it.

I would also like to know what system(s) you are trying to import. I am not well traveled enough to know the locations you have mentioned in your first post. Another reason for you to list your location in your profile.

I will fix my location...as far as the Utah tutorial, I follow the whole thing to a T. I find what i want to import (which is berkeley county WV) and select everything it tells me to and assign it to a scan list which is 1. I hit done and it takes me to the screen that it shows in the taturial with the exception that there isnt anything in the TYSY colum... all of the talk groups are there but there is no talk system assigned. when i import it to the scanner, it says no TYSY assigned... does this give you a more clear picture?

Oh, yes, it gives me a much clearer picture of what is happening. Thank you. Thank you also for updating your location.

When you selected the TGs to import, you were also required to select a site that has the frequencies these TGs would need to use (see image below). You must expand both groups (Sites and TGs) and make selections from both groups. Without the frequencies, the scanner cannot find out if the TGs are talking. You must select a site close enough to your location that the scanner can "hear" the data stream from the Control Channel. No TSYS means you did not import the frequencies.

OK. Now i tried that and it fixed the no TSYS problem, but not when i upload them to the scanner, out of 31 objects, there is only 3 frequency's? that doesn't sound right.... and when i hit the scan button on the scanner i hear nothing.... so to recap what i did....i followed your tutorial.... i added to sites in my county as well as the talk groups i wanted which were like 31 total... i upload it to the scanner, hit scan and nothing happens on my scanner it just shows the list i enabled (which is1) and the system name which i named Mon County.... can you see anything i am doing wrong up to this point?

EDIT- i know i said i want to import berkeley county....but Mononghalia county is what i am in right now. so i will do that first since it will probobaly be easier to pick up on the scanner

Can you Zip up your win500 file and attach it to a post and someone will look at it.

Try just renaming the file Ext to .txt & upload, but let folks know of that is what you are doing EX: myfile.p500 to myfile.txt

It appears Win500 is importing incorrect Trunking tables for WVIRP.
Making changes in image should fix the problem/
