Default Simple software BCT8, BC895, AOR8200, Alinco X10

I would like to find a fairly simple software program that will manage as many of these radios as possible (BCT8, BC895, AOR8200, Alinco X10). I don't need any remote control software just something to read/write to the radio and manage my frequencies. I do not live in an area where trunking is important so, reading and writing to the radios is all I THINK! I need. I have a copy of ScanCat and find trying to manage frequencies a real pain. Thanks, Bill

Our wiki has articles on each of these radios. I doubt that you're going to find one good piece of software (and that disqualifies Scancrap right off the bat) that covers all these radios, frankly. There's practically nothing for the X10 (assuming you have the PC interface), and the other radios are so old that most of the software (except for Scan Control, which does work with the BCT8 and 895 - but it no longer has the programming only edition...) may not run on Vista/ Windows 7.

I'd look in the wiki and see what you can find there. 73 Mike
