Question Is there or can there be a program that alerts to code 3 tone?

I was wondering if there is a program that will alert me of the code 3 tone.

I am looking for something that alerts to the code 3 tone or...
Something that allows the scanner to stay mute until a code 3 tone is activated.

Thats actually a cool idea. I'll start looking for something. I beleive there is a program that accepts marco commands based on certain conditions. I'll look it up.

Thanks , the idea came from the thought of muting all commnications unless a code 3 tone is activated. That way the regular calls are ignored and priority things are not.

This would be similar to tone-out but for code 3.

I take it your reference to a "Code 3 tone" is to one of the several "alert tones" that most dispatch consoles are capable of generating.

Some of the alert tones are simply a burst of a single tone. Most Motorola radios can be programmed for QCII, and a QCII radio can be programmed to open audio for a QCII "group call," which is simply a long burst of a single tone.

I'm not aware of any decoders that would respond to the hi-lo, warble, siren or series-of-beeps types of alert tones.

RKG, yes the tone I am referring to is in fact the hi-lo warble tone. The other 1 tone could be useful as well as it is used for a all call broadcast.

I consider it to be a bug, but the Uniden BCD396XT responds to warbles, beeps, Morse identifiers, and feedback in Tone Search mode.
