Question Now What Did I Do???

Just when I thought I had my BCD-396XT setup, I used the ARCXT software to filter out (check in the box) the FM & TV brodcast out of close call search. I then downloaded that to the scanner and now when it scans, after the last quick group it automatically starts a "service search". What the heck did I do to turn that on??? More important, how do I turn that off! I know I pressed the L/O button, but that can't have anything to cause this odd behavior... Help Mr. Wizzard!!!

Alabama, in your original message, you wrote "Turn the search off". Then, you changed it to "never mind".. Is turning the search off not the thing to do?

Try going into Menu Mode, selecting "Program System" and then scroll through until you find the service search you want to lock out. Use the menu system to navigate to Lock Out and check to see if it's locked out. If it isn't lock it out and you should be good to scan.

Thumbs up Thats what I found out

Yes, after trying several time to lock the "Military Air" seach locked out by the ARCXT Pro software, I did it from the radio and the lockout status showed "unlocked". So I locked it at the radio and it work. This is another "bug" i've found with the latest release of ARCXT Pro. I'll post that in a different thread. Thank you for your help

I don't think it's ARCXT. I discovered the problem and the fix on a BC15 which someone had accidentally activated a service search on. No one had touched it with Butel software since it's initial programming, so that wasn't the problem.

It seems to be more of an Uniden thing, where inadvertent key strokes can activate features when you don't want them to. That's why Uniden developed Keysafe for the new scanners.

The only inadvertent key press that would do that is pressing and holding L/O for over 2 seconds (which will unlock everything, including all systems and searches).
