Default Scancat_Lite and Radiorefrence

I have a Uniden BCD396XT. Using the Scancat-Lite software Im trying to download online frequencies to the top database using radiorefrence, but per Scancat- Lite you need internet Explorer 6.0. There is a bug On the I E ver. 7. that prevents the links to work. Is there a way around it?

Welcome to RadioReference.com. ScanCat & ScanCatLite/etc are the worst software ever written for scanners. I wish it was not even acknowleged here.

Since you are using a BCD396XT, I recommend using FREESCAN. Go here to get it.

To use an "import" function here at RR you need to be a Premium subscriber; plus the software must support it. The method used for importing was changed recently, and only the newest versions of software use it. I don't think SCL was updated to the new protocol.

+1 on the above. I gave up on it after an hour. I don't think it ever had the capability to import with the RR Webservice.

I totally agree with the opinions (yes, and even facts - just do a search on the software, and you'll see an eyeful - or two).

However before anyone jumps on the question of why it's in the wiki, WikiPedia policy is that it must be free of opinions or judgments as much as possible. We're all human (I think), so it's virtually impossible to do that - but we can try, best as we can.

SCL is only good (barely) for those scanners that aren't supported by anything else (case in point: Pro94). There are much better alternatives to virtually everything else - hence the 'Popular Software' articles in the wiki. They provide a fast reference to many of them....FreeScan being one of them, for sure.

I should point out that there is a way you can use Excel to copy data from RR, then into Scancrap (why bother if there are better packages, but not everyone likes free stuff...), and that article is also in the wiki.
