It may just be a font issue. Font problems are showing up in FireFox, MSIE, and other applications as well. Microsoft did some unexplainable things with Windows 7...like leaving out a mail client for one!

Keep in mind, Butel software is in the Netherlands. Maybe our fonts are classified!

Let me google that for you

Another problem that may have to do with the first problem. When I downloaded my data from the scanner and then re-uploaded it back to the scanner, trunk systems with a custom band plan got erased. System was still on custom but the band plan was gone. I couldn't receive 2 systems south river and sayreville and I could not figure out why. Frequencies were there but just the band plan data was gone. When I used proscan to download the systems I found out there was nothing in the band plan for those systems but they still were on custom. Not sure if this is related to the trunked freq and trunked parameter tabs as I cant see them anyway in arcxt. Gommert we really need this fixed, please respond and at least let us know your aware of the problems.

Gommert is aware of the problem and he claims to be doing some testing with Win 7.
I think it was over in the arc396 yahoo group were he had responded plus there is an active thread going on about this problem.

cool, Thanks for the update. I assume he is going to have to come out with an update for the radio id's feature anyway.

Please try the latest ARC-XT 1.3 build 1. It was released to fix the tab issue under Windows 7,

Good going Gommert! I tried the 1.3 B1 version on both of my Win 7 machines and it appears fine! I went through the program twice for each menu option and tab and did not see anything odd. I'm new to the XT version though so someone else may see something that I've not yet messed with. Hopefully everyone else will also find no problems.
The Arc-XT download page on your website still reflects the old 1.2 version but the download does contain the 1.3b1 version.

Thanks!

Steve

Default Another bug in ARC996 Pro and Win 7?

Gommert,

I may have found another bug in ARC996 Pro running under Win 7 Pro.

I have my P25 systems set to manual mode for the P25 decode setting due to living in a fringe area.
I often have the 996T set to display the P25 Decode screen that shows the current decode setting as well as the error levels. When on this screen you can turn the large tuning or function knob and change the current manual decode level.

Well I was watching that when I noticed it had set itself up to a decode level of 18.

I then realized I had ARC996 Pro running in Virtual Control mode. So I killed VC mode and then turned my knob back to my normal decode setting of 7. I watched it for some time and it stuck fine and remained at my manual setting of 7.
But, as soon as I fire up VC mode in ARC996 Pro the decode setting starts increasing when a talkgroup signal appears. It is like you had the settings in the 996T set to the auto mode for the P25 decode setting but when it does this the values only increase. They never decrease like they would really do if in auto mode.
If I take the 996T and put the display back to normal so the P25 error rate screen is not shown then I can run VC mode fine. I then tried ARC996 Pro from the Virtual XP mode and it functions fine in Virtual Control mode regardless if the 996T is displaying the P25 decode screen or not. So this appears to only occur when running ARC996 Pro under Windows 7.
I was wondering why my trunk system signals all disappeared this morning! It was then that I noticed that the decode settings had all driven up to 18 even though those systems were all set to manual!

I have not had a chance to try this with the 996XT and ARC-XT yet since you released the Tab fix. I'd already disconnected my new 996XT in preparation of mounting it in its fixed location. I just received it the other night.
As soon as I get it hooked up I'll the above on it and let you know if it also has this problem unless someone else tests this and reports it before I get back.

My last post was not a bug.
A reply from Gommert suggested I may have enabled an auto resume option under the VC settings tabs.
I found one that said to Resume Scanning After xxx Seconds under the Log Settings tab that was set to a value of 2. I changed it to disabled and problem solved!

with arcxt why is there 2 spots in the configuration where is says contrast? When i download my config for my scanner it says on the first field contrast 8 and the second under display it says 6... 6 is what I really have it set for. If I upload it to the scanner without changing anything the scanner changes to 8. the value in the first field? There must be a bug here and why would there be 2 spots for contrast?

btw.. the tabs now work in windows 7 for me also using the beta version... Thanks.

There should only be 1 contrast setting, I will look into that.

While you're looking at the Configuration feature, I can't seem to get it to send the LCD color to the scanner. It will send the flashing/alert colors, but not the normal background color.

Also, any idea when the private system feature will be activated?

Default ARC996 problem in windowns 7

I just noticed that on my ARC 996 pro I cannot access the trunked frequencies on any trunked sites in the software, everything else fine and fine in 396 pro. Good thing I only have one trunking site to add

Hopefully an update will come for this eventually, other than that all seems good under windows 7 for me.

No worries. Gommert is aware of this as well and said he would be working on it soon. I thought he said later this week but don't quote me on that.
Both ARC-XT and ARC-996 do run fine if you use the Virtual XP mode under Win7 but that is kind of a pain in my book. I did install both versions in the virtual mode just as a test and they worked fine. So this is a working option should you need it before he gets it fixed.

I'm aware of the tab issues in arc996/15/396, I should have a fix early next week.

Still every once in a while even with the new beta release 1 version for arcxt. It erases the motorola truck system custom band plan. Ugg had my scanner and went down somewhere today and couldn't pick up anything.

I too had problems with ARC-160 on my Windows 7 machine. I lost all my custom programming for rebanding and also lost trunk settings for End Code and Status Bit. I believe the default should be YES, but they were set to IGNORE? Anyway, I spent hours troubleshooting that problem.

Default ARCXT Pro V 1.4 b1 doesn't log UIDs

V1.4 build 1 does not display UIDs when using Display Mode 3. It seems to only display when using Display Modes 1 or 2. The column for UIDs shows on the log, but fails to actually log UIDs, even though they appear on the Virtual Control screen (when in either Display Mode 1 or 2 only). This comment was also made by another poster in the Uniden forum.

I'll start a new thread for this now that someone else is confirming what I observed with this new version.
