ARC5 Commo time out issue

Hello,
I just got the ARC5 software for ICR5 and keep getting a communication timeout error.
Has anyone else found a solution to this problem? I have tried all I/O options, it seems to like USB/Com1 the best ie. it puts the scanner in clone out mode, all others do nothing.
I would love to be able to use this scanner after using it for a paperweight for 7 years.
I am a huge fan of the Butel software, I have it on 4 other radios, so this type of problem was a surprise to me.

I've got the same problem. I just purchased ARC5 and am trying to download my ICOM IC-R5 radio settings to ARC5. I'm using Trendnet TU-S9 USB to serial converter. I've the TU-S9 cable with my Uniden BCT15X and FreeSCAN software without any problem. I'm using Windows 7. When I try to download I get a communications timeout error. When I click the download button, the IC-R5 display shows "CL OUT". I don't see anywhere where I can adjust the port settings. Any suggestions?
