Default software question

hello what software is available for the 996t and which would be the choice thank you for youre help trying to see which is the right way to go on purchasing software for my scanner. any pros and cons on all brands thanks also which software will support rebanding

Try Freescan. Its free, and it works great.

There's also ARC996, which you can get from Scanner Master, and we have a table which cross references software that supports multiple scanners in our wiki. In addition, we have the FreeScan User Guide in our wiki

No matter what software you get, you're going to need to connect your PC and scanner up with a USB serial cord. The wiki has an article called 'Connecting scanners via USB' which goes into great detail on this subject. Fortunately there are many COTS (common off the shelf) models that are known to work
