Hi everyone
I've been messing around with the command line options for the "Freescan" software. I found these on this site and copied and pasted them below my post for easy reference.
What I would like to do is to see if there is any way that after the command line below is performed, and the scanner connected to the software, to perform a single press of the "SCAN" button from the command line. Is there something I can add to the end of these lines to do this? This is the line that works for me:
C:\Program Files\FreeSCAN\FreeSCAN.exe" /com4,115200,loggingoff,int0
My motive is to record a couple of talkgroups only during longer periods of time that I'm away (up to a week). Among my other issues is a rather rundown computer that crashes every couple of days, so when I'm away I have an event scheduled in Windows to re-start every 24-48 hours. This works fine, and Windows restarts, but to get the scanner on the groups I want I need to actually physically be there to press the "SCAN" button to record these groups. I would place the above line in my Windows Scheduler to hopefully re-connect and start the scan automatically after Windows has restarted, if there was a way to essentially press the "SCAN" button through the command line.
There may be a way around this in the way I've set the scanner up, but I can't seem to move my groups that interest me to be the ones that appear when the scanner is first controlled by the software.
Hopefully that's not all too confusing, and thanks for any help that can be provided.

After creating a shortcut on your desktop, change the target to include command line arquments that will tell FreeSCAN what to do when you start it using that shortcut.
Using this method, you're instructing FreeScan to start virtual control mode on a particular com port, at a particular speed, with logging enabled or disabled, and what user interface type (Windows, IPod, Lcars).
Here are a few examples...
C:\Program Files\scannow.org\FreeSCAN\FreeSCAN.exe" /com1,115200,loggingon,int1
C:\Program Files\scannow.org\FreeSCAN\FreeSCAN.exe" /com3,115200,loggingon,int0
C:\Program Files\scannow.org\FreeSCAN\FreeSCAN.exe" /com4,115200,loggingoff,int0
Note there can't have any spaces after the commas and settings.
The last two parameters can be omitted; the defaults will be utilized. For example, you can enter /com1,57600,,
