Default GRE 600 programing question

I may be an idiot, but now that I have the channels programed, how do you add the talk groups?
I added the frequencies in "trunking objects" but am confused as to where to add the talk groups.
Can someone give me a clue?
I am assuming that psredit 500 and win 500 are at least similar ??

Thanks

Don

First you have to program the control channels for the trunking system in your area, then you can add tg's or let the wildcard find them then add them.

Default want fire only

Not the least bit interested in police and school buses, etc.
In "trunking objects" I entered the freqs:
:
854.41250, 854.98750, 855.78750,855.86250c, 860.76250a, 860.81250a, 860.86250a, 868.76250

866.92500 867.26250 867.57500a 868.03750c

866.62500 867.03750a 867.23750 867.35000c 868.43750

867.18750 867.48750a 867.88750c

Note, I put all freqs into a single list ( did not add the "c's" and "a's" )

Still don't know where to put the TG's
I know, or think I know the, TG's :

27551, 27654 , 27549 , 27547, 27550 ,27546 , 27548
27713 , 27533 , 27553 ,27552

Thanks

Don

In Win500, when you do a "web import" you will go to trunking instead of conventional. When the system appears, you will need to select the preferred "sites" & associated TG's for each trunking system that is selected. In Win500, both of these will appear on the same screen.

You will do this by placing a check mark in the empty box. You can also expand these by clicking on the plus sign beside the TSYS and TG's.

However, if you have a large system involving multiple sites, you will need to determine which ones are applicable for your listening and/or traveling area.

Yes, you can certainly load all of the system frequencies for any given Motorola system; however, for large statewide systems, you might run out of room in your working memory. However, if you only enter the CC's & AC's, you can load more systems, generally speaking.

I am seeing a system in your county that cannot be monitored with your PSR 600. You need a PSR 800 to monitor this system. I might add that there are fire TG's listed in this system.

Ohio MARCS-IP: Multi-Agency Radio Communications (P25) Trunking System, Various, Ohio - Scanner Frequencies

Here is a guide for your radio: Easier to Read Pro-106/197/PSR500/600 Digital Scanner Manual

If you happen to select Win500, my preferred choice for my PSR 500, here is an guide to programming TSYS and TG's: In this example, you can see how both will appear on the computer screen.

Default No TDMA yet

While the system can use TDMA, none of the users have as yet
got radios that are TDMA .
I am told that the 600 should work fine until this happens.

Thanks

I will continue to use my PSR 500 until I am forced to go to another model such as a PSR 800. I am hoping that GRE comes up with a new model that works with many of the newer digital formats. Since these radios are not cheap, I have to be resourceful.

The scanner manufacturers seem to be rather secretive about what is on the drawing board. I also hope that GRE improves the flimsy BNC module that is in the PSR 800 and PSR 500.

The BNC is a problem with the PSR 800 too???
This is the first I've heard of it.

Here is a post that talks about someone making a comparison between the two radios by direct observation of the opened unit. PSR 800 & BNC Design

Please, review 9/15/11 posting at 1020 am.

Thumbs up Cheap bnc vs. Amphenol commercial bnc #112236

Well it appears that since having to replace the cheap BNC product on my pro-106 with a amphenol BNC, if I do purchase a PSR-800 then I will keep another commercial amp BNC handy. Even if it doesn't become loose, the internal sleeve on the Amphenol BNC is plenty of a improvement over the twin prongs in the center of the cheaper bnc's to make it well worth the mod.
Note, since switching to the commercial amphenol bnc, a lot less torque is needed to lock any of my antennas.

one post said TG 27533 is Painesville FD
and another submission says TG 27553 is Painesville FD

My guess is that 53 is correct.....
