My Arc396 Backup Directory is Humongous!
Dear Friends,
Please help! I have noticed that my Backup directory
(Program files/BuTel/ARC396/Backup) is getting large very quickly. As I write this, the size is 148 MB, and I am assuming that this growing is happening every time I exit ARC396 after editing. I usually do the following before exiting: Quick Save All Systems, Save System, Save Profile, and Quick Save System Files First (before yes/no exiting).
At looking at the Backup files (each a directory again, beginning with the letter "D"): each seems to be a profile. Some adjacent files are exactly the same size, and I suspect that this is happening if I did no editing to the opened profile. All I am interested in is the current profile that I am working with. I have saved an "archive file" (with it's own unique profile name) which contains the original Uniden loaded systems for many cities in the US.
How can I delete some of these files in the Backup directory and keep only the ones I am interested in (archive and last edited one), without opening every backup file and inspecting the title of every .mem file... even if I did looked at the title, I have no clue what is in it (the .mem file)? And am I pressing any "save" options redundantly?
Thank you in advance. ARC396 is very nice and ease to use and gives one a very good prospective of the system/group relationship.
Peter
