It doesn't look like it wants to install on Windows 8. I even tried compatibility mode.

It works great on Windows 8 Pro.

I have 8 Pro with Media Center. It crashes here on mine when I try to install with a couple of errors.

I had no crashes, or any problem installing it.
Make sure You have net framework installed, 3.5 I think.

I have netframe 3.5 installed. Quicken requires it.

Can anybody help me getting started with ID Tracker? I got it work on a control channel but no id's or nothing has been decoded.

If your scanner is a GRE/RS you will need to make sure a scanner image is loaded.
Second, unlike Unitrunker or Trunk88, your scanner doesn't sit on a CC.
IT HAS TO BE SCANNING.

See the help file for more info on how to load the memory of your scanner into the software!

I use the program with a 996XT. So I program the Edacs system in the scanner and I put it in ID Search or ID Scan?

If you are searching for new IDs, then put the scanner in ID Search mode. If you only want to follow ID already programmed into the scanner, use ID Scan.
