BC125AT Uniden software

We are trying to use Uniden downloaded software to program BC125AT with a Windows 7 Pro machine.
Software appears to have downloaded, drivers also seem to download normally. After connecting the scanner with the supplied cable com port is shown as 3 and a message "reading from scanner failed, no response from scanner."

New guy here, so be gentle. Not being familiar with scanner architecture, I am in the camp that found programming difficult to learn. After many trips through the manual I think we finally are able to do the basic programming. Getting the software working seems like it would be more effcient than direct programming where it is difficult to confrim whether results have been achieved.

The initial goal is scan the local known railroad channels.

I had seen that software but wanted to be sure I was'nt missing something before spending more money.
Downloaded the trial Butel software and the driver issue remains; "no connection to scanner."

Have now held for over 40 minutes over a couple of days with no phone contact. Frustrating. They are now supposedly going to call back within 24 hours.
