Default Help me please?

I desperatly want to get my scanner going. I have the premium subscription to RR. I downloaded PSRedit500. Not sure what I need to do to get the software going on my computer. I dbl clicked one of the icons that downloaded and I got a window that says PSRedit500 was unable to load the FTDI direct drivers. The direct access mode has been disabled. To use direct access mode, download and install the updated USB cable drivers from the GRE America web site, or the FTDI web site.

Can anyone link to what I need to do? Thanks so much.

Doug

What type of scanner do you have?
GRE PSR-500
GRE PSR-600
GRE PSR-500c
GRE PSR-600c
Radio Shack PRO-106
Radio Shack PRO-197
What OS are you running?

GRE PSR-500

OS is Windows 7 Home.

After I clicked out of that window, what I assume to be the software window popped up. Using someone elses advice from earlier, I seem to have done what I need to in the software. Now I am stummped on getting that info to my scanner.

I did all this...

In PSREdit500, select the Import menu, then Import from RadioReference.com, then Trunked Data.

From there, you enter your RadioReference.com user name and password, then select your country, state/province, and finally your county. You would then be presented with a list of trunked systems associated with that county.

From there, you select the site(s) you would like to listen to (if it's a multi-site system) and the talkgroups on that system you would like to monitor and click import. You're then given the opportunity to add wildcards and adjust scan list memberships before the final import into the configuration.

But I do not know how to do this...

At that point, you'd upload the configuration into the scanner.

OK. I think I am done. If someone could verify for me. I am trying to listen to the P25 system in the city of Fond du Lac, WI. In the PSR Edit software I selected

Country USA
State WI
County Fond du Lac

Trunked radio system --- WISCOM

Transmitter site ---- The 2 that are in Fond du Lac county

Talk Group I started with 20101 thru 20108 (I am guessing 20001 thru 20012 are Fond du Lac county which is still running on the old conventional channel.)

It is late at night and it is a fairly small city. I am hearing some police chatter. Not sure if I am hearing all of it though.

I did not update any drivers, but after I clicked out of that initial windows telling me to do so, it all seemed to go ok. It uploaded to the scanner. Do I still have to do this? I am hearing chatter on the scanner.

It sounds like you did not have the Com port set in PSREdit, that your programming cable is utilizing.
