Default 15x uploading with freescan - no channels to scan

i manually entered 32 channels for a local air force base using freescan. ive used the "test" button which says the software is communicating with the scanner. ive confirmed and set the baud rate for the front COM. port and matched it with the computer. ive set the the state to my state. the cables are all plugged in before i power up anything. ive set the quick key number. the locked out box is unchecked. the system to upload is listed in the box. when i click on "start upload" it appears to work and lists 32 channels as uploaded. however, when i go to the radio and unlock the channels with the appropriate quick key it says "there are no channels to scan"
i have tried it multiple times saving changes and over writing previously titled freq. to no avail.

any suggestions would be much appreciated, MIKE.

It's hard to accurately diagnose this without seeing your file. Take your 996 file, zip it up with one of the popular utilities, then attach it to a reply (see the 'GO ADVANCED' button? Press that, and 2/3 of the way down you'll see a button for attaching files...)

My first guess is that you have not allocated any site or system quick keys. Remember quick keys come in 2 distinct flavors - the group quick key, and system quick keys (for conventional systems), and for trunks, group quick keys and site quick keys. Usually FreeScan attempts to allocate all your group quick keys for you (that's why all 10 of them are checked), but the system/site quick keys are up to you

You want the one right below the one I have circled, and then upload again.

thanks again for the response, im not sure what changed but i went back and checked everything again and decided to try it one more time. my first miracle apparently occurred, it uploaded successfully. ive uploaded three more systems and cleaned up the entire receiver. since then ive looked at your profile and had no idea how busy you are. im also completely new to this forum posting thing and im probably not doing it right either, so thank you very much for responding. mike
