Windows 8.1/Uniden USB-1

It seems windows 8.1 dose not recognize it. There is a usb-1 with the upgraded chip for windows 8.1 anyone know where it could be find or whats it called??

The original USB-1 cables used an internal chipset, the Prolific HXA. As time went along and Windows 8.x "happened", this chipset wouldn't function like it did in previous Windows versions.

So an updated chipset was used, called the HXD chipset. The newer batch of Uniden USB-1 cables have the HXD chipset. A new set of drivers also accompanied the new cable and HXD chipset, which must be loaded prior to connecting the cable.

At one point, Prolific had a tool on their website "CheckChipVersion_v1006.exe" which could be used to determine which chipset version is in a cable.
