BCD396XT - How to receive only TG's I want?

I am new to the 396 and am using Freescan. I have downloaded systems from RR. I am getting TG's showing up that are not in the system I selected. For example I have the Massachusetts State Police broken down by Troop ... but am getting Dept of Environmental Management showing in the MSP, but only by TG number, not by the name.

How do I make the 396 only get the TG's I want and reject the rest?

Either delete or lockout the tags. You can lockout by clicking on the talkgroup ID in freescan and checkmarking the lockout space towards the right.

These are TG's that are not showing in my group lists. They are other TG's on the system

lockout the one you don't want to come up and change from search to scan

IDs are not really scanned. The scanner checks for any activity in the trunking system and if any ID becomes active, the scanner will display it in 'ID Search' mode. In 'ID Scan' mode, the scanner will only display IDs programmed in to groups.

I got it now, just like the others said, change ID Search to ID Scan. look at the easier to read manual on how to do that.
