ARC96 usb/Com 3

I have an older windows 7 laptop with ARC 96 on it. I can't connect to my pro 2096. In the box that comes up when hit scanner button. ....it show usb/Com3 can't figure out how to get com4. I uninstalled the program at least once and did the update. Any advice? Thanks

did youset the comport in arc as well as the pc?

No. I just did the basic install and update. Tried to find a setting that I might be able to change, but no luck.
